Getting Back in the Groove

Getting back in the groove takes a bit of discipline and some down time. The later is a result of vacationing at the beach. The past year has been a busy one. Spending 18 days in the hospital over a six month period along with surgery and time out while taking care of my husband following his stroke severely curtailed what little free time I had.

I've written about a very special listing that I have and posted that. It's a beginning. And not the end.

Reading a number of blogs from members that I follow has been interesting. There was one by Tammy Emineth that I found very helpful and reblogged it so hopefully more members will get to see it and be helped also.

My going away to vacation helps me to appreciate how much others enjoy vacationing at Lake Anna. Living there provides a year round partial vacation for me but it is only when I am away that I seem to be able to really cut back on real estate. With cell phones and computers (of course I have mine with me) means that we are never entirely real estate free. Probably the only time in the almost 30 years since I started doing this that I cut the cord was when I traveled to Antarctica. At a cost of $10.00 a minute I really did not make many calls.

This post was just to say I'm hoping to make the most of Active Rain once again. It is a super great marketing tool and a great community of special folks. I'm happy to be here.

Cutting the cord is refreshing for you and I am sure you have a ton of energy that got restored in your batteries.

Hi Anna Banana...Thanks for the encouragement. Just your comment is helping.

That's one of the things that's holding me back from going to Antarctica . . . is no cell phone coverage. I managed the Inside Passage in Alaska through a string of iPad hotspots, and I'm doing Cuba this winter, which will present similar challenges, but I can't be cut off all together. I commend you.

I'm not happy to hear about the hospital and your husband's stroke, but am happy you took a vacation -- we all need one from time to time and it sounds as though you were overdue.

Everyone needs a break from their work,  especially the self employed people becuase they are on 24/7 pretty much.  Taking a break is not only healthy but it also keeps you from getting insane!!!

Welcome back, Kate. I think you'll find a lot agreement about that RE umbilical cord. It's hard to get away from it sometimes. Even on vacation. I love it down at Lake Anna. I haven't been there for a number of years, but it is beautiful and peaceful.

Welcome back. My husband used to work for a company that owned a home on Lake Anna. One of the employee perks was being able to use the home during the work week as a vacation home. We loved it! Can't imagine living in a vacation spot year round. Must be wonderful.

Kate Elim Welcome back.  Life sometimes gets in the way for us all.  I have never been to Lake Anna, but it sounds like a beautiful place to call home.

Kate Elim I am sure the initial ignition may use little extra gas - once the car gets going, it does not need much fuel....all the best for smooth ride...

Sometimes getting back into the groove just means keeping it moving and grooving and dancing when you need to dance.

Glad to hear you are both feeling better and able to spend time at Lake Anna.  It sure can feel good to just live and not be consumed with selling real estate... once in a while.
