LOOKING FOR A KAYAK AT LAKE ANNA?

Looking for a kayak at Lake Anna? I was and luckily I knew exactly where I wanted to go for it. Lake Anna's kayak hot spot.

Kayaking is such a popular sport and one that my children and grandchildren enjoy so naturally they want me to do it too. To tell you the truth I was a bit apprehensive about it. After all I am 76, have never done it, and not in the best shape (believe me I'm being very, very kind to myself) so it made sense that I struggled with the concept of me actually out there on the lake paddling away.

Have you ever found that when one or more of your children "suggests" something to you you end up doing it? Well, I don't know about you but that is exactly what happened to me once again. A couple of weeks ago some of the kids were coming over so that morning I went shopping. My first and only stop was LKA Outfitters.

This is one small business that packs a wallop. You would never think from looking at the outside that they could possibly carried so many different items but they sure do. They means Chris McCotter and his crew.

LKA OUTFITTERS

CHECK OUT LKA OUTFITTERS YOURSELF...YOU WILL BE SURPRISED

If you are not quite ready to buy your very own kayak you can rent one from Chris. This is a great way to transition into the sport. I am pretty sure that if you try it you will discover how much fun it is.

Whether you come to buy or rent a kayak or simply to look around to see what else you can find you will be surprised at the variety of items in the shop. You might also wonder how they can fit so much and yet do a nice job of displaying it all. You can get an idea by looking at the photos below.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL FIND INSIDE LKA OUTFITTERS...SEE WHAT YOU DISCOVER

See that orange kayak in the left photo top row? It now resides in the shed on our dock with all the other water toys. Or at least the other ones that fit in there. The rest are up in our walk out lower level. If you are not careful they will take over your house. Oh what a fun problem to have.

If you happen to stop by there because of this post please tell Chris. He will be happy to know that and so will I.

Kate since many will want to kayak on Lake Anna LKA Kayak store is a great topic for you to share with your readers.  The store is deceptive, it does have more inventory than I expected from just looking at the outside photo.

Good morning, Kate... your love and enthusiasm for Lake Anna radiates in your posts.... you should do a kayak postcard to Lake Anna residents....

Hi Jennifer...It really is deceptive. There are so many items inside and outside too.

Hi Barbara...That's a terrific idea. I like to do postcards of listed properties with exterior and interior photos. I send them out to the neighborhood.

Kate -- Kayaking is a fun sport for all ages.  LKA Outfitters certainly has a great selection of fun items for use in all those lake houses.   So did you kayak... and how did it go? Must be awesome to be living on a lake.

Hi Barbara...Yes, Barbara, I did kayak. It went pretty well (I should say wonderful as I did not fall in) although I do have a tendency to go from side to side, can't seem to get the hang of a straight course yet.

You are right about all ages. My grandchildren and my children love it and now I do too. The only problem is I want to do it with them so I'm limiting myself to when they are here.
