The THRILLS & CHILLS of RELOCATING...Local LAKE ANNA REALTOR® Needed

The thrills and chills of relocating...local Lake Anna REALTOR® needed. To truly understand what is involved means you've done it yourself. Unless you have picked yourself up and moved away from all that you know...and everyone that knows you, it is hard to understand the impact relocating can have. This is often especially hard when there are school age children in the family. This becomes a big area of concern for not only the parents but the youngsters as well.

To help families purchase in a new location Local REALTORS® can, and often do, provide an invaluable service. We are looked to as the local expert, the source for answers to many questions. It is very important that we know what the answers are. When we don't we at least need to know where to go to get the answers. That is why it is so important to use a Local REALTOR®.

It certainly helps when you are able to work with a Local REALTOR® and one that has relocated themselves, not just once or twice but multiple times and sometimes vastly different locations. These are the agents that will be able to understand the emotions involved and the logistics intailed to make a move.

RELOCATING FOR RETIREMENT OR EVEN A SECOND HOME

Even when it means relocating for retirement or when purchasing a second home and children's schooling is not a concern there is much to consider. There are still many issues that are of concern to those that are contemplating or have recently retired. They often want to know what type of activities, clubs, organizations, and volunteer opportunities are available in the location they are considering. Who knows this better than a Local REALTOR®? Who knows about health care, types of stores available, and what fire and rescue units are in the vicinity

Does an out of the area REALTOR® know the answers to these AND many other questions? Very often they do not.

Relocating to a new area requires the assistance of someone that can do more than access the key to open the front door. Yes, there are many out of area REALTOR® that can search listings in the area you are interested in but do you really want anyone that may have never been to that location being the one that is supposed to be the "expert" in the housing market there? Wouldn't you be way better off with a Local Realtor®.

There was a time that I would not have thought it necessary to write a  post like this but seeing the influx of agents from 80+ miles away listing and selling in my local market makes me wonder what has happened to the integrity of some of these agents. Yes, I understand that a referral will not put as much money into their pockets but one of the things that we are required to do according to our Code of Ethics is to always put the clients interest ahead of our own.

I truly believe that when Realtors® go outside of the area they are familiar with to sell types of properties that they have not sold before they are simply putting their interests first, not their clients.

My advice to those purchasing...Find a Local Realtor® who knows the area where you are relocating, not one that knows the area you are moving from.  There's a big difference!

Kate, as Realtor I have worked with many relocating families both in and out of the area. Your post is right on with what buyers/sellers need from us. Suggested.

Hi Mary...Thanks for suggesting.

I really do feel that it is important for buyers to use a REALTOR® that is very familiar with the area the buyers are relocating to. It is wonderful that we have a referral system in place that allows agents to refer clients. Everyone wins in those circumstances.
