What Else is Coming to Lake Anna?

What else is coming to Lake Anna? Change has come slowly to Lake Anna and many of us have not minded this one bit.  Lake Anna is located in a very interesting spot.  It is in Central Virginia making it an easy drive to a number of places such as Richmond (the capitol of the Commonwealth), Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, and not even that far from Washington, D.C.  Yet, it is in a very rural area.  I'd say we have the best of both worlds.

Now some changes are coming.  Through the years we have seen some signs of growth now and then.  Two nurseries have been established and provide many of the Lake Anna residents with great choices for landscaping their yards.  We certainly have marinas where we are able to not only buy boats but all of the paraphernalia that goes with life on a lake.  Mom and Pop shops have kept us supplied with basic groceries and gas for many years now.  We've had a few places to dine at or very near the lake with even a couple accessible by boat.

Today we have a Food Lion and a number of other new businesses with more to come.  Much has happened this past year.  The face of Lake Anna is being changed.

This sign gives us a look at what else is on the horizon.  This is part of the very first shopping center here at Lake Anna.  We're looking forward to the other businesses opening up in the near future.  We wish them success and believe they will be happy with the reception they receive.

Kate - Having more shopping nearby should be a great selling point for Lake Anna homes.

Hi Pam...It seems to be on many buyers mind.  I've lived her almost 19 years and love it so much that shopping has not been an issue for me.  I'm on the road quite a bit plus I use the Internet extensively for that but I understand it is important to others.

Hi Cara...Thanks so much for your comment.  It is really a challenge to find the right mix of amenities to bring into a community without severely changing its essence.

My children, all grown adults, still talk about the "greasy spoons" that I would try to find when we'd be on the road.  They grew to appreciate them also.  There's nothing like good home cooked food.

We have been extremely fortunate that we have had subtle but significant changes to Lake Anna.  It has taken many years to happen for some things but the community has thrived in spite of that.  We still have the country atmosphere that makes you realize you have been transported from the hectic life many of us lived or are still living elsewhere.

Hopefully your community will be able to do the same.  That way you will not have lost what appealed to you initially.

Good luck,

Kate
