Simply spring. That's why I thought I would share these with you. They are close-ups as I really like the look of individual azalea blossoms and they are often lost in the overwhelming numbers on each and every bush.
Azaleas come in such stunning colors. This shade is among my favorites.

Hope you like it too.

This is the sight that greets when I drive down our country road and approach my driveway. It's a welcome home sign each and every spring. We planted these bushes quite a number of years ago and they seem to love being here at Lake Anna as much as we do.

I LOVE that color! Just seeing a photo of it makes me feel good! I posted a pretty picture of the beach this evening, come on over to my blog and see, I think you would like it. I shot the photo just a few days ago while on a listing appointment. Thanks for the wonderful pink azalea eye candies!
Hi Kate! I too, love the color of those azaleas! Looks like candy!
Have a great Thursday...
Lovely photos Kate. Our Azaleas are just getting ready to bloom now, hope they look as fantastic as yours.
Hi Kate, It's fun to see the various stages of spring in different parts of the country. Our azaleas aren't quite ready yet. These sure look nice.
Love the close up photos and the color is just stunning. Thanks for sharing a touch of spring on what was a rainy and chilly day here in Annapolis.
Gorgeous, I miss the azaleas in the South.
The azaleas are pretty and you did a good job capturing their beauty.
Kathleen, wonderful photograph! Our area looked liked that a few weeks ago but now everything has turned green.
wish our colors of spring were so vivid... not quite here in northern NH yet...
Kathleen,
Simply Spring and Simply Beautiful. My Azalea's sustained a lot of damage from the snow this Winter. So far they haven't bloomed.
Rich
Hi Barbara...Thanks for your comment. Glad you like the color also. I went to your blog and really enjoyed, not only the photo, but what you wrote. I'm looking forward to the pictures once you get the listing.
Kate
Hi Debe...It is a striking color. I love seeing it as I near my driveway.
Kate
Hi Gary...I'm sure they will. Azaleas love to flaunt their blossoms.
Kate
Hi Dan...I had to check to see where you are from and saw that it is beautiful Washington state. You have ideal weather for flowers. I know about the great roses grown there and in Oregon.
I took these photos about 10 days ago and just got around to posting them. They still look like they are at their peak.
Kate
Hi Martha...It was rainy here yesterday morning also but by mid-day we had the sunshine again.
Hi Missy...I see them up in Connecticut when I travel home. They may have some hardier species now. Perhaps you can plant those in Michigan. Fortunately they thrive here in Virginia.
Hi Diane...I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the pictures.
Kate
Hi Craig...We've had the azaleas blooming for a while now. The ones that are near more wooded areas (we've got lots of woods around Lake Anna) blossom a bit later than those that get more sunshine.
Hi Diane...Do you have azaleas in New Hampshire? If not perhaps you can. There may be some that are hardy enough for your weather. They are pretty so it would be nice to have them in your yard.
Hi Richard...There's still time and hopefully they will. We had an unprecedented amount of snow this past winter also but our azaleas seem to have shrugged it off.
Kate
Hi Kate - The colors of these azaleas are so deep and rich, definitely a nice burst of color to welcome you home.
Hi John...They are eye catching and make for a nice greeting as I approach my home.
Kate
Kate,
Azaleas are so pretty, and this color is stunning. Thanks for showing such a vibrant color. :)
Steve
Those flowers are a real welcome sign in your driveway. Don't you just love spring?
They are beautiful flowers. There is a bush in front of the old house I am selling and when they were in bloom it really spiced up the curb appeal. They don't last long though.
Kate Azaleas are one of the most popular flowering shrubs in the US - easy to understand why when looking at your photos Karen
Beautiful azaleas. My azaleas are blossing right now and I love the way they greet me as well when I come home.
Kate: I love Azaleasalso. They are such a versatile flower. We have to keep them out of the direct sunlight in summer!
Thanks for sharing that little burst of springtime beauty! Love it!!
Gorgeous! I love the vivid color! I just wish they would stay in bloom longer here. We only get to see the flowers for maybe a month at best =( I'll just have to enjoy the photos from everyone else =)
The azaleas are so pretty, what a great picture of them :)
