This sounds like a very helpful way to reach out to our military that have been wounded while serving on our behalf.
It may be the program you have been looking for to support. I am sure donations from individuals, as well as groups, will be appreciated.
The Belmont Bay Craft Guild which sells original jewelry designs around the Prince William County area raised $4000 in 2008 to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project. The crafters from the community sell their items at various local craft shows as well as the Coffee Club Café in the VRE station and at the Belmont Bay Marina.
The Wounded Warrior Project delivers transitional care backpacks to service men and women who have been injured in the line of duty. The backs contains phone calling cards, CD players, magazines and other requested items for those with long term stays in military hospitals and out patient centers. The Belmont Bay Craft Guild was started in 2006 with the intent to raise money specifically for charities and has been successful in their goal of giving back to those in need.
