Lake Anna State Park...Things to Do

Spring is definitely in the air.  Makes you want to get outdoors to enjoy the weather, the changes in the landscape, and that sense of renewal as the days begin to warm up.

SUMMER TIME AT LAKE ANNA STATE PARK

It seems that there is always something one can do at LAKE ANNA STATE PARK.  Here are some suggestions that you might enjoy. Why not take a nice hike around Old Pond Trail or join the walking program if you would like some company. Volunteers are always needed.  Perhaps you might like to take this opportunity to learn what needs to be done and how you can help.

We are so fortunate to have this great park close at hand.  Be sure to make the most of it.

03/15/2011 - 12/15/2011 Old Pond Trail Self Guided Tour

Come and enjoy a self guided nature tour of the Old Pond Trail. The Friends of Lake Anna State Park brochure is available at trailhead by parking area. The Old Pond Trail is a paved path and is .3 of a mile. Location - Old Pond Trail Phone - (540) 854-6245

03/21/2011 Walking Program 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Get outdoors this spring and enjoy walking with others. All fitness levels are welcome. If interested, Nordic Poles are available for purchase. Fee: $3 per person, $8 per family; FREE for Annual Park pass holders. Location - Meet at Park Office Phone - (540) 854-6245

03/26/2011 Volunteer Training 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Calling teens and others interested in serving children and families through interpretive programs such as Junior Ranger activities, campfires, etc. This training will provide an orientation to the park, its programs and volunteer opportunities. Bring a friend and help make a difference in the lives of others! Location - Visitor Center Phone - (540) 854-6245
