Today, as we did last Veterans Day, we celebrated at Matoaka Elementary School in Williamsburg, VA. Our granddaughter, Autumn, is a student there and each year they honor the veterans in their lives. Col. Jim Bleecker, along with about 75 other veterans, was in attendance for the program and for the luncheon.

Autumn and Grandpa Jim (also celebrating his 80th birthday)
The Fifth Grade put on the following program
This is America
The Pledge of Allegiance
The Star-Spangled Banner
American Tears
Armed Forces Medley
The Lights of Freedom
It is wonderful to see the children and the staff at Matoaka Elementary recognize the many active duty and retired veterans that make up their families. It is important that we be reminded that without the sacrifice so many have made and continue to make, we would not have the freedoms we treasure.
