Memorial Day 2011 is a time, once again, to think of those that have served our country. It is a time to honor those that gave their lives to ensure our continuing freedom and it is a time to think of those that have suffered great wounds in our defense. Many have served and show no visible physical scars but carry emotional ones with them day in and day out.
United States Military Academy at West Point
Those that chose to make the military their career often seek to begin their career at one of the military academies. The academies provide an outstanding place to learn what it takes to be an officer serving our country.
However, the academies are only one way to learn to be a soldier. Through the years many have been drafted and served valiantly while others have enlisted. It is through the efforts and patriotism of all these men and women that we continue to enjoy our liberty and our way of life.
Many thanks to all who have served.
